The Student Council of St. Joseph's school was re-established in 1999. It gives a voice to all students, and provides a forum for them to discuss any issues which may concern them. The Student Council is comprised of two representatives from each class 1st --6th year, including T.Y. and L.C.A. These representatives are elected by their classmates each year. The teachers in charge are Mr. M.McDonagh and Ms. S.Guilfoyle.
The representatives were elected early in September by their classmates. Last year the Student Council organised a Christmas Carnival which raised much needed funds for the local branch of St. Vincent de Paul.
The first Student Council meeting of the 2021/22 school year took place on the 14/09/2021 and students discussed school issues such as recycling, mental health awareness and fundrasing for charity.
